Who is opposing to provide Group B status to PB-2 (JE/SE/SSE) in Railway ?

The common category of Subordinate Engineers are fighting since long to provide them Group B status, hence opposition may not be from their part as general. Govt. of India has no opposition since all Central Govt. Deptt has implemented Gr B status for PB-2 employees as per DOPT guideline issued vide Gazzette Notification No 605 issued on 9 April 2009. Railway Board may take its own decision not to provide classification as per SCPC recommendation but whether any policy decision may be taken by the Rly Bd without prior consent of recognised Federation ? If so what are the Federation doing to oppose such demoralizing decision taken by the Board to provide Gr C to all PB-1 including earlier Gr D & PB-2 employees up to GP-5400 in many cases.
The views of Engineers may be posted here for wide publicity.

  1. Undoubtedly so called recognized organizations are opposing the elevation of cadre. Here we can not only blame the organizations but also our own engineers. Even after seeing the recommendation of VI CPC and the silence maintained by RECOGNIZED TRADE UNIONS, still our engineers are believing these Labour Unions like a goat trusts the butcher. Even after this commotion, still many of the engineers are under the shade of these organizations for meager benefits like retention of place of work in case of transfer. In fact, the administration made the rail engineers like its red carpet. Every one wants to walk over it, but none cares for it. Our rail engineers are conveniently forgetting that the trade unions are utilizing their services only to raise membership, but not with a love on their cadre. Unless, we open our eyes at least now, we cannot achieve our social status. It is my personal feeling that we are also equally responsible in this failure of getting Group-B.
It is high time to put pressure on the Railway Administration from all fronts.

  2. Dear Er.
There is no difficult to upgrade railengineers as group B first of all group D while upgraded to C why the administration didnot think about superiors of those group D to elevate theminto group B . How can any one expect control over their sub ordinates once they are merged with themin the same group. Is it not common thinking of ordinary sensible human being who is going to implement the classification.under whose force the group D elevated to group C the same why didnot think of the repercussion and why they have failed to represent about Engineers is there reason behind to be analysed. Even to satisfy others why administration never bothered about the repercussion . Finally ADMINISTRATION only going to loose outturn by the RAILWAY ENGINEERS because the mental agony /frustration caused by merging the group D with group C. At least after pointing out let them realise and rectify the mistake therby heavy loss to railway cnn be avoided.
2.Eligibility of first class previlege pass to JES very much essential to maintain their status with the work force while travelling by train along with them after completion their work from the site.It is minimum courtesy anybody has to think over it.all other cntral govt SUBORDINATE ENGINEERS ARE ENJOYING THE FACILITIES why not railway Junior engineers. Have they done any sin if done also GOD will take care. This is a genuine demand no one can deny it.

  3. The reason for not giving Gr.B Status to subordinate engineers is quite obvious. If the recognized unions put forward that demand they will have to drop the demand of merging Gr-D to Gr-C, since board may not accept both. They(both Board and unions) are pretty sure there will be no problems whatsoever from Subordinate engineers, as they know how organised and united this so called Engineers are and that they are too busy running the Railway system. I am sure they hardly expected any resistance from us.
Now it is our turn to prove them wrong. We should utilize every forum to highlight this issue, including approaching CAT/judiciary if required. To bring the recognized unions to their senses, we must first give a call to our Engineer brothers to resign from their respective associations in protest against their continued negligence of our cadre. If any body is not coming out voluntarily we have to boycott them socially and they should be told that they will permanently be barred form joining our forum in future also.

  4. ofcourse recognised unions are opposing/not supporting in this matter but I think we the engineers are more responsible for our bad conditions/downfalls.We keeps hope from our those who are sitting in the "GHADIALEE WELWISHER unions".
My dear they are already dead man.Their "ATMAS" has been died. They are quite unable/"LAACHAR" and you still blamming them/ yes, they are.
why we vasting our enrgy to prove them wrong.
I am agreed with Mr.Satyam, we should utilize every forum to highlight this issue, including approaching CAT/judiciary and media.Meadia can play a vital roll in this matter.so,we should approach them in right manner like clubbing all annamalies alongwith justification, suporting documentation/letter from hon'le polititions/
recomnadtion of various comissions /in a effective presentation and creat pressure to publish/telecast it. But these all are possible with the "Unity" hence UNITY OF ENGINEER IS MUST TO SOLVE THIS.

  5. i agree with above all the comments but is not understood..why our beloved Engineer brothers are still fascinated to be office bearers of the Recognised unions and still they do not want to loose their positions.. in these organisations..they are all the culprits and behind these decisions..since few of these are enjoying very good status and facilities since years and they are not interested to loose them now. Because they want to be leaders every where..not to be a dignified..officer of Railways...just for few engineers vested interests ..a lot of engineers in Indian railways are suffering badly...We the Engineers ant a Dignified life in railways along with status...because we are the back bones of the organization..it is true.
